The Way of Love

Thu Mar 26, 2009, 7:47 PM
In the world of the occult,a far more wonderful world than ours, the world of sane men, the act of summoning demons brings joy to the summoner. His conjuring of an evil presence is thought to be done for a favor. The Lesser Key of Solomon, a book best looked through only out of morbid curiosity and not of the belief in its contents, features descriptions of the hellish terrors, but these terrors are made less terrible. How could one make a terror terrific? Give him the ability to strengthen men, make them wiser. If the devil himself could spare a lending hand to hopeless bloke, out of the devil's own will to perform such a favor, then he might not be such a terrible guy. One could argue that he only pities the needs of these hapless souls to take them from the grace of God forever, but can the motives of a generous act tarnish the myriad joys brought to the weary soul? Don't all men commit generosity just to win God's favor? So why not accept this favor?

The answer to such an question lies within the devil's motives. While his act is kind his motives are those of a demon. He is generous out of his hate for God. His scolding contempt for the lord taints each favor he gives. When a man seeking god's favor is generous his acts are out of love for God. (In a perfect world they should be, but sometimes mankind seeks God's favor out of fear, these men have no love for god, only hate for their own frailties.) His love for the benefits of his holiness only strengthen the weight of his virtue.

Why thanks! I stumbled upon your page randomly, I liked your "secret places" set. It is nice to see an artist that draws anime, yet has a grasp on more traditional forms.

Yeah I honestly believe that people should have a traditional skill set, if they are going to be a cartoonist. I've been in art school since I was 13, and now I'm a freshman in art school and still practicing the traditional skills. I've got plenty of unposted traditional works though I mainly post my leisure and personal projects.
